The numerous international exhibitions which have been held in England, have given splendid opportuniĀties to military bands, not only to our own, but to those of other countries. Among the most important of the latter which have visited England are the French Garde Republicaine, the Belgian Guides and the New York Twenty-second Regiment (Gilmore's), all most artistic combinations, the latter especially. Here is the instrumentation of Gilmore's band (1878) and the Belgian Guides (1888) :7 |
